There’s life after death.

I was married for 7 months.

The divorce papers hit my mailbox 2 days after my birthday, 2 days before Valentine’s Day.

Savage.

Death in the Bible is separation.

Following that definition, divorce is death.

So after that death of my marriage, a painful year followed.

Then another year of diving into a nasty toxic relationship.

I had lost my faith in marriage.

I didn't see myself ever ending up with a godly woman who was honest and genuine in how she loves me.

I had experienced too much deceit and grief.

The month my ex-girlfriend and I finally broke up, almost 2 years removed from my divorce, I went to a church service.

One of the pastors I met shared with me his story about his divorce, as he was aware of my past. To my surprise, after service, he pulled me aside and whispered something I'll never forget,

“That woman you saw me with is now my wife.

I’m here to tell you, brother, believe me, there is life after death.”

As I write this, I’m waiting on a FaceTime call from my incredible girlfriend, she should be getting off from work soon.

She and I are in a place where we have sought God for years in what our futures individually look like.

We have invested a lot of quality time seeking God’s will for us as a couple.

We both desire to marry one another.

It’s been quite the “life after death” experience that the pastor from that church spoke of.

Verses To Digest:

“So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten,”

Joel 2:25

“Through the Lord’s mercies, we are not consumed,

Because His compassions fail not.

They are new every morning;

Great is Your faithfulness.

“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,

“Therefore I hope in Him!”

Lamentations 3:22-24

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil;

For You are with me;

Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”

Psalm 23:4

Your Next Steps:

If you have experienced any form of death, remember today we serve a God who raises the dead to life.

He created life from nothing.

God is able to make man from the dust. There is no death that you have experienced that is outside His scope of resurrection power.

Satan himself unleashed Hell’s fury on the cross.

It actually sealed his demise, as Jesus willingly died, then took His life up again.

That same divine power resides in those who know Christ as Lord.

If any form of death haunts you today, remember that death does not have the final word.

That simple but significant quote shared with me by that pastor rings true for those who know Christ today, and forever.

I echo it now, from me to all of you:

"I’m here to tell you, brothers and sisters, believe me, there is life after death.”

All love,

Lowery
