The WAR in Reward
ReWARd
The word WAR.
You can find it inside the word “Reward” and to me, there’s a reason for that.
You can’t have one, without the other,
so prepare for a fight.
I've said this before, anything worth having in life, has great cost.
I’m not saying suit up, grab an actual weapon and get ready to dodge bullets and grenades.
But I am echoing a lot of what Paul uses to describe our daily lives as Christians. I’m also running with the same mindset of any great athlete, or person who is highly successful at what they do in life.
What they all share in common is knowing that there is no reward without war.
You go to war against anything that threatens your progress as you aim to gain that reward.
The reward of strong faith? You war against temptation.
The reward of a loving marriage? You war against neglect.
The reward of a lucrative career? You war against laziness.
The reward of a healthy body and mind? You war against junk food.
The reward of living your dream? You war against distractions.
There is no reward, unless you are willing to go to war.
Verses to digest:
“You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please Him who enlisted him as a soldier.”
2 Timothy 2:3
“The Lord is a man of war;
The Lord is His name.”
Exodus 15:3
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”
Ephesians 6:10-11
“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”
1 Timothy 6:12
Your next steps:
I’ll keep this one very simple.
Identify the wars you must fight to gain the rewards you want in life.
Don’t back down.
The only surrender you need to partake in, is surrendering your will to your Commander and Chief.
He is the Lord of Hosts, the God of Angel Armies.
Follow Him every day into battle.
Fight the good fight of faith, and endure hardships as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
All love,
Lowery
